CSA Netherlands Chapter Forum 2019 - A cloud journey

The 2019 edition of CSA Netherlands Chapter Forum will take place on January 15, 2019 starting at 13.00 am and ending with a networking buffet. This Cloud Security Forum is a community-organised security event. This is the chance for you to share knowledge, ideas and demonstrate what you’ve been up to! During the day our speakers will inform the audience on their experience with cloud security. As we progress through the day, we will progress through the cloud journey from business case to continuous monitoring. Confirmed speakers: Ben Krutzen, partner at KPMG – Cloud strategy and business case Ben Krutzen is partner of the Dutch practice of KPMG IT Advisory. Ben holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics. Prior to joining KPMG, Ben was Deputy Group CISO at Royal Dutch Shell (RDS), accountable for the RDS Cyber Security Strategy (2010-2016). In this role, Ben has shaped the engagements on Cyber with the Board, and has defined and mobilized three successive multi-year company-wide improvement programs. Ben’s current focus is to helping clients develop a risk based cyber security strategy and roadmap, and transforming their information risk management processes through integration and automation. Roel Wouters, Group Cloud Risk Manager, KBC – sharing his thoughts & experiences on “Cloud Governance at KBC Bank” KBC’s cloud journey started in 2011 and our first achievement was the move of our communication and collaboration tools to Microsoft’s O365 cloud solution back in 2013. A Cloud governance was set-up by bringing all involved stakeholders (Legal, Procurement, IRM, IT, ...) together. This approach allows for a swift, secure and compliant response to all cloud initiatives popping up. The implementation of KBC’s cloud strategy, strongly focussing on a ‘Cloud first assessment’, is structured in different waves. The first wave being the move to O365, the second wave dealt with specific cases not only focussing on the value it creates, but also on gaining experience and getting ready for the next wave. At the end of the talk some of KBC’s challenges will be shared. Patrick Coomans, Strategic Leader at B-HIVE – “Some cloud journeys include an engagement with a fintech company. How do you asses their security maturity?” Andre Koot, Security and IAM Lead Consultant and CyberXpert at Nixu Corporation – The European Security Certification Framework (EU-SEC)The project “European Security Certification Framework” (EU-SEC) aims to create a European framework for certification schemes and evaluation concepts to secure cloud infrastructures. Within this framework, existing national and international certifications can co-exist. EU-SEC will improve the business value as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of existing cloud security certification schemes. Leon Kortekaas, Manager Cloud Integration at NN Group – Security and compliance monitoring in practiceHow do I govern my environment to ensure it is secure and compliant? What does the AWS toolbox offer in this area? How did NN implement these in practice? The opening presentation will be at 13:00. We will close at around 17:00 with a buffet until about 19:00.
