Le Pub Scientifique NL #5 'One year on...'

Thursday 13th December                         with Tim Beames With:  Tim Beames MSc BSc (Hons) MCSP Talk with us, think with us and drink with us!  Le Pub Scientifique started in London 2012 and came to the Netherlands in 2017. It was inspired by the classic Pat Wall quote: “any discussion of work after 6pm can only be done if it is outside the clinic/lab and with a drink in hand” !   Now we are 'one year on...' and to mark this occassion Beamesy is BACK! Beer included! This December Tim Beames will lead on: A practical introduction to Graded Motor Imagery (GMI) How do you treat a patient that can't be touched or can't move? What do you do when the symptoms described no longer fit the typical' model of musculoskeletal assessment or treatment?  The challenge of working with clients experiencing persistent pain, movement disorders or imobilisation is one that many clinicians will experience and embrace throughout their career.  GMI is an approach that can be used in these situations.   This December at Le Pub NL, Tim Beames would like to explore the practical application of GMI for patients that may be experiencing more complex symptoms that ask us to go beyond our basic training.  Graded Motor Imagery (GMI) offers a novel three stage synaptic exercise process involving left/right discrimination, imagined movements and mirror therapy. With patience, persistence and often lots of hard work, GMI gives new hope for treatment outcomes.  Bring your probing questions, an appetite for knowledge and thirst for beer!
